A comforting and creamy golden turmeric latte packed with anti-inflammatory spices, perfect for mornings or evenings as a soothing, nourishing drink.

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder (2 grams)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (1 gram)
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger (2 grams)
  • 1/4 cup water (60 ml)
  • 1 cup full-fat canned coconut milk (240 ml)
  • 1/4 cup water (60 ml)
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (15 ml)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (2.5 ml)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine turmeric powder, ground cinnamon, black pepper, grated fresh ginger, and 1/4 cup water. Whisk together and heat over medium heat for 3-4 minutes, whisking occasionally until a fragrant paste forms.
  2. Add 1 cup full-fat coconut milk and 1/4 cup water to the saucepan. Stir well and gently heat the mixture until warm but not boiling, about 5 minutes, whisking to combine smoothly.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in honey or maple syrup and vanilla extract. Taste and adjust sweetness or spices as desired.
  4. Optionally, strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a heatproof mug for a silky smooth latte.
  5. Serve immediately and enjoy warm.

Notes

Do not let the mixture boil to preserve delicate flavors. Whisk well to avoid clumps. Adjust sweetness gradually. Black pepper is essential to increase turmeric absorption. For vegan version, use maple syrup instead of honey and plant-based milk.
