  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 4 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken drumsticks dry with paper towels to help the skin crisp. Place in a large bowl.
  2. Drizzle 2 tablespoons olive oil over the drumsticks. Sprinkle smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Toss well to coat all pieces evenly. (About 5 minutes)
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and let it warm up for 3-5 minutes while you prepare the glaze.
  4. In a small bowl, mix chopped chipotle peppers, honey, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and lime juice until smooth. Taste and adjust heat or sweetness as preferred.
  5. Arrange chicken in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 20 minutes at 400°F (200°C), flipping halfway through. The skin should be golden and crispy. (Check internal temperature for safety.)
  6. Brush the drumsticks generously with the chipotle glaze. Return to air fryer and cook for an additional 5 minutes at 375°F (190°C) to set the glaze.
