A quick and easy creamy buffalo chicken dip with a tangy ranch swirl, perfect for game nights and casual gatherings. This crowd-pleasing dip combines spicy buffalo sauce with a cool ranch swirl for a deliciously balanced appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups shredded cooked chicken (about 280g), rotisserie chicken recommended
  • 8 oz cream cheese (225g), softened to room temperature
  • ½ cup buffalo hot sauce (120ml), such as Frank’s RedHot
  • ½ cup ranch dressing (120ml), your favorite brand or homemade
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese (100g)
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese (50g)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • Optional garnish: chopped green onions or parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Shred the cooked chicken finely, about 2 cups (280g).
  3. In a medium mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, buffalo hot sauce, ranch dressing, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Blend with a hand mixer or spoon until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Fold in shredded chicken, shredded cheddar cheese, and shredded mozzarella cheese gently until evenly combined without overmixing.
  5. Transfer the mixture to an 8×8-inch (20×20 cm) baking dish and smooth out evenly.
  6. Dollop ¼ cup (60ml) ranch dressing over the top in small spoonfuls and swirl gently with a butter knife or skewer to create a marbled effect.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until bubbly around the edges and lightly golden on top.
  8. Remove from oven, garnish with chopped green onions or parsley if desired, and serve hot with celery sticks, tortilla chips, or crusty bread.

Notes

Use room-temperature cream cheese for easier mixing. Adjust buffalo sauce to control heat level. Swirl ranch dressing gently to avoid watery dip. If dip is runny after baking, let it cool to thicken or broil for 1-2 minutes for extra gooeyness. Leftovers keep well refrigerated for up to 3 days and can be reheated gently.
