An easy, no-flip sheet pan bacon recipe that delivers perfectly crispy, evenly cooked bacon with minimal mess and hands-off cooking—ideal for busy mornings or brunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • About 12 slices thick-cut bacon
  • Parchment paper or aluminum foil (to line the baking sheet)
  • Optional seasonings: ground black pepper or smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (205°C).
  2. Line your sheet pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  3. Arrange the bacon slices in a single layer on the pan, making sure the pieces don’t overlap.
  4. Optional: Lightly season the bacon with freshly ground black pepper or smoked paprika.
  5. Place the pan on the middle oven rack and bake for 20-25 minutes. Start checking around 18 minutes if your bacon is thinner. The bacon is done when it’s golden brown and crispy to your liking.
  6. Remove the pan carefully using oven mitts.
  7. Transfer the bacon onto a plate lined with paper towels to soak up excess grease, or place on a cooling rack for extra crispness.
  8. Let the bacon cool for a couple of minutes before serving.

Notes

Do not overcrowd the pan to avoid steaming the bacon. Use thick-cut bacon for best texture. Keep an eye on the bacon near the end of cooking to prevent burning. Save rendered bacon fat for cooking eggs or veggies. For extra crispiness, transfer bacon to a wire rack after baking. Line the pan with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.
