  • 1 package (3 oz) Blue Jello Mix (blue raspberry flavor)
  • 1 tablespoon Unflavored Gelatin
  • 1 container (8 oz) Cool Whip (original or light)
  • Cold water (amounts vary per step)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the red jello layer: Dissolve 1 package (3 oz) red jello mix in 1 cup boiling water. Stir for 2 minutes until dissolved. Add 1/2 cup cold water. Pour 2-3 tablespoons into each cup. Refrigerate 15-20 minutes until set but tacky.
  2. Make the white layer: Sprinkle 1 tablespoon unflavored gelatin over 1/2 cup cold water and let bloom for 5 minutes. Warm gently until dissolved. Fold in 1 cup Cool Whip gently. Spoon 2 tablespoons over red layer in each cup. Refrigerate 20 minutes to set.
  3. Prepare the blue jello layer: Dissolve 1 package (3 oz) blue jello mix in 1 cup boiling water. Stir 2 minutes until dissolved. Add 1/2 cup cold water. Spoon 2-3 tablespoons over white layer carefully. Chill at least 30 minutes until fully set.
  4. Add Cool Whip stars: Using a small star-shaped cutter or spoon, dollop Cool Whip on top layer into star shapes. Keep chilled until serving.

Notes

Let each jello layer set until firm but still slightly tacky before adding the next to prevent mixing. Cool jello slightly before spooning to avoid melting layers. Bloom gelatin properly for smooth white layer. Chilling cups before layering helps set jello faster. Optional: add lemon juice to white layer for citrus zing or fresh berries as garnish. For dairy-free, use coconut-based whipped topping instead of Cool Whip.
