A simple, quick, and elegant cheese and crackers snack plate perfect for last-minute entertaining, combining a variety of cheeses, crackers, and accompaniments for a crowd-pleasing appetizer.

Ingredients

  • Sharp Cheddar, sliced or cubed (aged varieties recommended)
  • Goat Cheese, softened
  • Manchego, thinly sliced
  • Blue Cheese crumbles (optional)
  • Water Crackers or Table Crackers
  • Multigrain Crackers
  • Seeded Crackers
  • Honey or Fig Jam
  • Mixed Nuts (almonds or walnuts)
  • Fresh Grapes or Sliced Apples
  • Olives or Pickles (optional)
  • Fresh Rosemary or Thyme sprigs
  • Cracked Black Pepper

Instructions

  1. Remove cheeses from the fridge 15-20 minutes before serving to soften slightly.
  2. Cut sharp cheddar into 1/2-inch cubes or thin slices. Slice Manchego thinly (about 1/8 inch thick). Crumble blue cheese into small chunks. Scoop out small logs or dollops of goat cheese.
  3. Place cheeses spaced apart on your cheese board to allow room for crackers and accompaniments.
  4. Arrange different types of crackers in small stacks or fanned out around the cheeses.
  5. Spoon honey or fig jam into small bowls and nestle them among the cheese and crackers.
  6. Place mixed nuts in a separate bowl or scatter lightly on the board.
  7. Scatter fresh grapes or apple slices in clusters around the board.
  8. Tuck sprigs of rosemary or thyme around edges of the board.
  9. Lightly crack black pepper over the goat cheese for a subtle spicy note.
  10. Ensure each cheese has a knife or spreader and add toothpicks near olives or pickles.
  11. Step back and admire your quick-yet-elegant snack plate.

Notes

Remove cheeses from the fridge 15-20 minutes before serving to enhance flavor and texture. For gluten-free options, use gluten-free crackers or crisp apple slices. Toast crackers briefly if needed to refresh crunch. Store cheeses wrapped in wax paper and crackers separately to maintain freshness.
