A super simple, two-ingredient crockpot recipe featuring Little Smokies sausages and BBQ sauce, perfect for quick snacks or party appetizers with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound Little Smokies sausages, thawed if frozen
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite variety)

Instructions

  1. Open your package of Little Smokies and drain any excess liquid if needed. Measure out 1 cup of your preferred BBQ sauce.
  2. Place the Little Smokies into the slow cooker. Pour the BBQ sauce evenly over the sausages. Use a spatula or large spoon to gently stir and coat all the sausages with the sauce.
  3. Cover with the lid and cook on low for 2 to 3 hours or on high for 1 to 1.5 hours. Cooking on low is best for tender, well-infused flavors.
  4. Check that the sausages are hot and the BBQ sauce has thickened into a sticky glaze. If the sauce looks too thin, remove the lid and cook uncovered on high for 10-15 minutes to reduce it slightly. Avoid overcooking to prevent drying out.
  5. Transfer the Little Smokies to a serving dish or keep warm in the crockpot on the ‘warm’ setting until ready to enjoy.

Notes

For best results, cook on low heat to allow the BBQ sauce to thicken and caramelize. Stir halfway through cooking if possible. You can prep ahead by combining ingredients in the crockpot insert and refrigerating overnight. Use a slow cooker liner for easy cleanup. If you don’t have a crockpot, cook on the stove over low heat for 15-20 minutes, stirring frequently. Variations include adding honey, chili flakes, or different BBQ sauces for flavor twists.
