These easy mummy hot dogs are a fun and simple Halloween dinner that everyone will love. Made with just three ingredients, they’re ready in under 25 minutes and perfect for busy weeknights or spooky parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough (such as Pillsbury Original Crescent Rolls)
  • 8 hot dogs (regular-sized, beef, turkey, or chicken)
  • Mustard for the eyes (yellow mustard recommended)
  • Optional: Ketchup or BBQ sauce for dipping
  • Optional: Pretzel sticks for arms
  • Optional: Thin slices of cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Open the crescent dough carefully, unroll it, and separate along the perforated lines into 8 triangles. Lay them flat on a cutting board.
  3. Cut each triangle lengthwise into 3 to 4 strips using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
  4. Pat the hot dogs dry with a paper towel. If adding cheese, cut small slits in the hot dogs and tuck in thin cheese strips.
  5. Wrap each hot dog with the dough strips, starting at one end and wrapping diagonally. Leave a small gap at the top for the eyes. Overlap strips slightly but do not pull tight. Tuck the end of each strip underneath the hot dog.
  6. Place the wrapped hot dogs on the prepared baking sheet, seam side down, leaving about an inch of space between each.
  7. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and cooked through. Start checking at 12 minutes.
  8. Let them cool on the baking sheet for 2 to 3 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
  9. Once slightly cooled, dip a toothpick in mustard and dot two small eyes near the top of each mummy.
  10. Serve warm with dipping sauces on the side.

Notes

Keep crescent dough refrigerated until ready to use. For best results, don’t overwork the dough. Leave small gaps between strips for a mummy look and to let steam escape. Tuck ends of strips under hot dogs to prevent unraveling. Add mustard eyes after baking, not before. Can be wrapped up to 2 hours ahead and refrigerated. Freeze unbaked for up to 3 months; bake from frozen, adding 3-5 minutes.
