A vibrant and festive charcuterie board featuring red, white, and blue themed ingredients perfect for summer celebrations like the Fourth of July. This easy-to-assemble board balances sweet, savory, salty, and tangy flavors for a crowd-pleasing centerpiece.

Ingredients

  • Brie cheese, small wheel, soft and creamy
  • Sharp white cheddar, sliced or cubed
  • Blue cheese crumbles
  • Thinly sliced prosciutto
  • Spicy soppressata or pepperoni
  • Honey-glazed ham slices
  • Fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
  • Blueberries or black grapes
  • Green grapes or sliced kiwi
  • Assorted artisan crackers (e.g., Carr’s Table Water Crackers)
  • Baguette slices, lightly toasted
  • Marcona almonds or roasted pecans
  • Honey or fig jam (small bowls for dipping)
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs
  • Olives, preferably Kalamata or Castelvetrano

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry all fresh produce thoroughly. Hull and halve the strawberries, rinse grapes or blueberries, and slice the baguette into ยฝ-inch rounds.
  2. Toast the baguette slices lightly in the oven at 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) for about 5 minutes until crisp but not browned.
  3. Cut the brie wheel into wedges, slice cheddar into bite-size cubes or thin slices, and crumble the blue cheese.
  4. Arrange meats into loose rolls or folds to add volume and interest on the board. Tear prosciutto gently if too thick.
  5. Place small bowls with honey and fig jam on different corners of the board to avoid crowding. Add olives in a bowl or small pile.
  6. Begin by placing cheeses spaced out on the board. Next, tuck in meats in clusters around cheeses.
  7. Fill gaps with fruitsโ€”group strawberries in a vibrant patch, scatter blueberries for a pop of blue, and balance with some green grapes or kiwi slices.
  8. Add nuts in small piles for crunch. Layer crackers and baguette slices in an accessible spot, fanning them out.
  9. Add fresh rosemary sprigs for visual appeal and aroma. Check the board from all angles to balance colors and textures.
  10. Fill any empty spots with extra nuts or small fruit clusters. Keep the arrangement casual but intentional.

Notes

Assemble the board just before serving to keep crackers crisp and fruit fresh. If prepping early, keep crackers and bread separate and add last minute. Wash berries gently to avoid bruising. For gluten-free, swap crackers and baguette for gluten-free alternatives. Vegan versions can use dairy-free cheeses and replace meats with marinated grilled vegetables or smoked tofu. Avoid overcrowding the board to maintain visual appeal and texture balance.
