A quick and easy air fryer recipe for cooking frozen beef burger patties that delivers juicy, grilled-flavored burgers with a tangy house sauce. Perfect for busy weeknights or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

  • Frozen beef burger patties (¼ to ⅓ lb / 113-150g each)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to season
  • Cheese slices (optional): Cheddar, American, or pepper jack
  • Burger buns (soft brioche or classic sesame seed buns)
  • House sauce:
  • – Mayonnaise (½ cup / 120 ml)
  • – Dijon mustard (2 tablespoons / 30 ml)
  • – Pickle juice (1 tablespoon / 15 ml)
  • – Smoked paprika (½ teaspoon / 1 g)
  • – Garlic powder (¼ teaspoon / 0.5 g)
  • – Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional toppings: Lettuce, tomato slices, pickles, onions, crispy bacon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 370°F (188°C), about 3-5 minutes.
  2. Lightly season frozen patties with salt and freshly ground black pepper on both sides.
  3. Place patties in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overlapping; cook in batches if needed.
  4. Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through at 6-7 minutes for even browning.
  5. Add cheese slices during the last 2 minutes of cooking to melt, if using.
  6. Toast burger buns in the air fryer for 1-2 minutes or on a skillet until golden and slightly crisp.
  7. While burgers cook, whisk together mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, pickle juice, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to make the house sauce.
  8. Assemble burgers by spreading house sauce on each bun half, adding the patty, and topping with desired veggies or bacon.

Notes

Do not thaw patties before cooking to keep them juicy. Flip halfway through cooking for even browning and grill marks. Toast buns separately to prevent sogginess. Use a meat thermometer to ensure internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) for beef. Adjust cooking time for thicker patties or different air fryer models. House sauce can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to a week.
