Juicy turkey patties seasoned with garlic powder, smoked paprika, and Worcestershire sauce are topped with sharp cheddar and fresh avocado for a crowd-pleasing bite.

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground turkey (85% lean)
  • 4 slices sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 ripe avocado, sliced
  • 8 slider buns (brioche preferred)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato slices, red onion rings, pickles

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey with garlic powder, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined, about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions (about 2 oz or 60 g each). Shape each into a small, flat patty roughly the diameter of your slider buns. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering but not smoking, about 2 minutes.
  4. Place patties in the pan with space between them. Cook for 3-4 minutes on the first side without moving until browned. Flip and cook another 3 minutes.
  5. Place a slice of cheddar on each patty, cover the pan with a lid or foil, and cook for 1-2 minutes until cheese melts.
  6. Slice and toast slider buns face down in a clean skillet or under a broiler for 1-2 minutes until golden and crisp.
  7. Assemble sliders by spreading avocado slices on bottom buns, adding cheesy turkey patties, and topping with optional toppings as desired.
  8. Serve immediately while warm and melty.

Notes

Do not overwork the turkey mixture to keep patties tender. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing. Cover the pan when melting cheese to trap steam and ensure even melting. For a smoky char, finish patties under a broiler for 30 seconds after melting cheese. Slice avocado just before serving to prevent browning or toss slices in lemon juice if prepping ahead.
