A spicy, creamy, and creepy-cute Halloween appetizer made with a sriracha-spiked yolk filling and a spider web design. Perfect for parties and potlucks, these deviled eggs come together in about 30 minutes and are a guaranteed crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise (full-fat recommended)
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha (plus extra for drizzling)
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Hard-boil the eggs: Place eggs in a single layer in a large pot, cover with cold water by 1 inch. Bring to a rolling boil over high heat, cover, turn off heat, and let sit for 12 minutes. Meanwhile, prepare an ice bath. Transfer eggs to ice bath and cool completely, about 10 minutes.
  2. Peel and halve the eggs: Gently crack and peel eggs under cool water. Pat dry. Slice each egg in half lengthwise. Remove yolks to a mixing bowl. Arrange egg white halves on a serving platter.
  3. Make the filling: To the yolks, add mayonnaise, sriracha, Dijon mustard, lime juice, salt, and pepper. Mash with a fork until smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust seasoning if desired.
  4. Pipe the filling: Spoon yolk mixture into a piping bag or zip-top bag. Snip off 1/2 inch of the corner. Pipe a generous swirl into each egg white half.
  5. Create the spider web design: Place about 1 tablespoon extra sriracha in a squeeze bottle or tiny piping bag. Starting from the center of a filled egg, squeeze a small dot, then spiral outward to the edge. Using a toothpick, drag from the center outward to the edge, creating 6-8 spokes. Wipe toothpick clean between each drag. Repeat for all eggs.
  6. Chill and serve: Refrigerate for at least 15 minutes before serving. Serve cold.

Notes

Use eggs that are a week or two old for easier peeling. For the web design, if sriracha is too thick, thin with a drop of water. Assemble and add web design on the day of serving for best appearance. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Do not freeze.
