These creepy-cute white chocolate witch finger pretzels are a perfect Halloween treat. They combine salty pretzel rods with sweet white chocolate, almond fingernails, and spooky details for a fun, easy, and delicious snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (12 ounces) pretzel rods
  • 12 ounces white chocolate melting wafers or white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds
  • Green gel food coloring
  • Red gel food coloring
  • Small green sprinkles or edible glitter (optional)
  • Black or orange sanding sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep your workspace: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Arrange pretzel rods and separate sliced almonds nearby.
  2. Melt the white chocolate: Place white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each, until completely smooth (about 1.5-2 minutes). Add 1/2 teaspoon coconut oil if needed for smoothness.
  3. Add green color: Stir in a tiny drop of green gel food coloring until you achieve a pale, witchy green shade.
  4. Dip the pretzels: Working one at a time, hold a pretzel rod by the clean end and dip the other end into the melted white chocolate, coating about two-thirds. Let excess drip off, then place on prepared baking sheet. Repeat with all pretzels, working in batches of 4-5.
  5. Add fingernails: After dipping 4-5 pretzels, press a sliced almond gently into the chocolate at the tip of each pretzel, angled slightly upward. The pointed end should face away from the pretzel.
  6. Create ‘bloody’ cuticle: Dip a toothpick into red gel food coloring and dab a tiny amount at the base of each almond fingernail.
  7. Add warts and details: While chocolate is still wet, press small green sprinkles onto the chocolate for warts. Use a toothpick to draw tiny lines or wrinkles for realism.
  8. Chill to set: Place baking sheet in refrigerator for 15-20 minutes, or until chocolate is completely firm. For faster setting, freeze for 5-7 minutes.
  9. Final touches (optional): Once set, drizzle leftover white chocolate (re-melted) to create additional warts or details. Let any additional chocolate set before serving.

Notes

Work in small batches when adding almond fingernails to prevent chocolate from setting. Use a tiny dab of red gel food coloring for the cuticle—less is more. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. For best texture, make no more than 2-3 days ahead. Can be frozen for up to 2 months.
